Tajima Area
Tajima is located in the north of Hyogo Prefecture and is completely surrounded by nature - including coastline, mountains, and rivers, with choice destinations for swimming and skiing. Kinosaki Hot Springs
Kinosaki Hot Springs have a history of more than 1400 years, during which many literary figures have visited. The streets are lined with three-story wooden inns overlooking the river, where they create the elegant atmosphere of a hot spring destination. The seven local public baths are very popular.

Hyogo Prefectural Homeland for the Oriental White Stork
This is an institution for oriental storks designated nationally as special natural treasures in Toyooka, where their last habitat existed. The institution works to return the storks to the wild by protecting and breeding. At the site, with a river surrounded by mountains, visitors can observe the storks through the open aviary. The area is maintained as an environment where the storks can live among the forests and the swamps.

Castle Town, Izushi
In the Edo era (1603-1867), Izushi had prospered as a castle town with 58,000 goku (Goku is an old unit of wealth. A goku equals with the amount of rice that a person has in a year.). The images of those days still remain on the streets with the castle ruins, the principal retainer residences, the clock tower, and the sake cellars. This town is also famous for handmade buckwheat noodles.

Uemura Naomi Memorial Museum
This is a museum dedicated to the world-famous adventurer Naomi Uemura. Located in his hometown, the museum exhibits the equipment he used and screens a documentary of his explorations.

Genbudo Park
This cave, designated as a national natural monument, was made by volcanic activity 1.6 million years ago. The formation consists of beautiful octagonal pillars of basalt.

Hachi Heights Ski Resort
The ski area has various slopes that are suitable for beginners to advanced skiers, and includes a kidsユ area. Hachi Kogen has the most interesting courses and the best snow conditions. Its half-pipe (length: 100 meters, incline: 15 degrees) is the only one with official recognition of JSBA (Japan Snowboarding Association) in West Japan, and it attracts a large number of snowboarders.

Ten Falls
This is the most notable waterfall in the prefecture and has been chosen as one of the best 100 waterfalls in Japan. It is worth seeing the water falling and cascading from the height of 98 meters. There are also seven large and small waterfalls between the entrance of the valley and the Ten Falls such as the Kyuen Falls, the Fuufu Falls, and the Tsuzumi Falls, and the path is an excellent hiking course.

竹Takeda Castle Ruins
It is said that the feudal lord Souzen Yamana of Tajima spent 13 years building this branch of Izushi Castle and it was finished between 1441 and 1443. Another name for it is Torafusu Castle. The magnificent stone walls that remain were built around 1600 by an order of Hirohide Akamatsu. They used the Anou style of stone piling technique also used for Nobunaga Odaユs Azuchi Castle. The stone walls of Takeda Castle are some of the best ruins in Japan, maintaining perfect appearance, and they have been designated as a national historical ruin.

Ikuno Silver Mine Opened in 807 and closed in 1973, this large silver mine has a history of 1,200 years. Visitors can tour inside the mine. The exhibition has 2,000 mineral specimens including 1,200 minerals selected carefully by the world-famous "Mitsubishi Mineral Collection." This is one of the biggest mineral museums in Japan.

Asago Art Village
The outdoor sculptures collected throughout the country are placed in the forest and there is a museum and accommodations. Located close to the village, Tataragi dam, is considered the best in the East as a dam dedicated for pumped hydro-power generation. Tourists may visit the dam with a reservation.

Daijo-ji Temple

Amarube Railroad Bridge
It is [sareta] of ..putting.. construction Amarube iron bridge from 1909 as for 2 years and two months. The length of the bridge and the number of piers boasted of both top of Japans secondarily old in 12 of in existence within the country [toressuru] type bridges. It was rebuilt in a new concrete bridge in the summer of 2010. Three piers remain now, and the bridge angle of old and new can be seen closely.

Yumura Hot Springs It is said that this hot spring area was discovered by Jikaku-taishi 1500 years ago. The hot springs hold a huge quantity of 98°C (208°F) water. Eggs, vegetables, crabs, and other foods are boiled at the source spring called メArayuモ, which is continuously billowing with clouds of steam. Along the Haruki River, there is メAshiyuモ, which is a hot water trough to soothe oneユs legs after a walk.

Cave Gate Touring Cruiser
